Coordinating service recovery after a cyberattack
Restoring systems after a cyberattack requires coordination between security, infrastructure and backup teams. We coordinate the agreed work so recovery decisions account for the incident status and service dependencies.
Service scope
Recovery coordination
We connect SOC activities with the customer, S&VM specialists and the BaaS/DRaaS provider, including SecureVault where involved. We agree restoration order, reconnection conditions and verification scope. After recovery, we arrange heightened monitoring of availability and signs that the threat persists.
Recovery priorities
We order services by importance, dependencies and availability of resources needed to start them.
Reconnection conditions
We agree required checks, security changes and the people authorised to approve systems returning to the environment.
Provider cooperation
We coordinate customer, S&VM and backup or recovery-infrastructure tasks, documenting dependencies and decisions.
Post-start monitoring
We observe agreed security and service-health signals, referring problems to the appropriate teams.
Project deliverables
What will your team receive?
- A recovery sequence and dependency map.
- Reconnection and service acceptance criteria.
- A register of decisions, tasks and owners.
- A summary of verification and post-recovery monitoring.
Delivery conditions
What do we agree before starting?
- Owners for services, infrastructure and the recovery process.
- The resources and data needed to execute the agreed plan.
- Confirmed cooperation from backup or standby-environment providers.
How we work
From understanding the need to verifying the result.
Recovery readiness assessment
We gather incident status, dependencies and resource availability, identifying start conditions.
Coordinated restoration
We agree task order, track checkpoints and relay decisions between providers.
Verification and monitoring
We check agreed operating criteria, apply heightened observation and document remaining recommendations.
Clear responsibilities
What is already included, and what do we extend?
SOC manages incidents and coordinates remediation; Enterprise includes joint coordination and agreed recovery tests. This extension covers extensive recovery and resources beyond the plan, not automatically backup capacity or DRaaS licences.
Before making a decision
Questions about recovery coordination
Does the service include backups and standby infrastructure?
They are not automatically included in coordination. Providers, licences, capacity and recovery resources are specified in the agreed scope.
Who decides when to restart a critical service?
Previously designated people decide against agreed criteria. Coordination supplies technical and security context and records the decision.
Does recovery mean the incident is over?
Not always. Services may operate while analytical or remediation tasks remain open. We define monitoring and closure conditions for each part of the case.
