Business continuity, BIA and BCP/DRP plans

After a disruption, restoring the most important processes in the right order is essential. We connect business needs analysis with action plans and technology recovery capabilities.

Service scope

Business continuity and BCP/DRP

We support the establishment or improvement of business continuity management based on ISO 22301. Business impact analysis (BIA) identifies critical processes, dependencies and recovery requirements. We then develop business continuity plans (BCP) and IT disaster recovery plans (DRP). These documents cover roles, activation conditions, communication and the return to normal operations. We compare business requirements with available resources and identify gaps requiring decisions or investment.

BIA and dependencies

We assess how business interruptions affect the organisation over time. We identify the assets, people, information and suppliers needed to support critical processes.

Strategies and requirements

We agree recovery priorities and objectives. We compare the expected restoration time and acceptable data loss with available solutions and test evidence.

BCP and DRP plans

We describe activation of emergency actions, roles, communications and recovery sequencing. We account for partner dependencies and conditions for returning to normal work.

Exercises and reviews

We prepare a procedure validation plan and support agreed exercises. We translate results into plan revisions and technical tasks.

Project deliverables

What will your team receive?

  • BIA report and critical dependency map.
  • Agreed recovery objectives and priorities.
  • BCP/DRP plans and emergency communication procedures.
  • Exercise plan and improvement register.

Delivery conditions

What do we agree before starting?

  • Participation of business process and IT service owners.
  • Information about dependencies, resources and supplier capabilities.
  • Management decisions on tolerable disruption and resources.

How we work

From understanding the need to verifying the result.

Establish the needs

We conduct BIA and assess disruption risks. We confirm critical dependencies with business and IT teams.

Build the plans

We agree strategies, roles and objectives, and develop procedures that can be carried out with available resources.

Verify feasibility

We support exercises and review the results. We identify gaps and update the agreed plans.

Clear responsibilities

What is already included, and what do we extend?

A business continuity programme and full BCP/DRP plans are GRC extensions. NOC backup checks and representative Enterprise tests remain within the core scope; BaaS/DRaaS infrastructure requires separate scoping.

Before making a decision

Questions about business continuity and BCP/DRP

How do BCP and DRP differ?

BCP describes maintaining or resuming business processes during a disruption. DRP focuses on restoring the IT environment that supports those processes.

Does a stated RTO guarantee service restoration?

RTO is an agreed time objective. Its feasibility must be verified against architecture, dependencies and tests; writing it in a plan does not confirm it can be achieved.

Is a successful backup enough for business continuity?

No. Procedures, resources, recovery sequencing and tests are also needed. The plan should include people and dependencies beyond the data itself.

The next step

Let us define a scope that makes sense for your organisation.

Let us discuss your environment, priorities and team responsibilities. We will use this to define the work, required access and service conditions.
